Comprehensive Screening

What We Test For

LABS TO GO offers a comprehensive range of drug and alcohol testing options, from standard screening panels to expanded and specialty testing. Testing is available through urine, hair, oral fluid, breath, and blood, depending on the test selected.

All drug and alcohol testing is conducted using established testing procedures and in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements. Laboratory-based drug testing is performed through SAMHSA-certified laboratories, with DOT-regulated testing conducted in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements under 49 CFR Part 40.

SAMHSA-Certified Laboratory Testing

DOT and non-DOT specimens (non-rapid test types) are sent to a SAMHSA certified laboratory for processing. Results are typically processed within 24-48 hours. Additional SAMHSA lab testing is recommended to confirm non-negative rapid test results.

Testing Panels & Methods

We offer multiple testing methods to suit your specific requirements, from standard DOT screenings to comprehensive hair follicle analysis.

Urine Drug Testing

Urine drug testing is available for DOT-regulated and non-DOT workplace testing, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, follow-up, and other testing needs.

DOT Urine Drug Testing

DOT testing follows 49 CFR Part 40 requirements and uses the federally mandated drug testing panel:

  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Cocaine
  • Amphetamines, including Methamphetamine, MDMA & MDA
  • Opioids, including Codeine, Morphine, Heroin (6-AM), Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, Oxycodone & Oxymorphone
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)
Non-DOT Urine Drug Testing

Non-DOT testing provides greater flexibility based on employer, school, court, or individual requirements.

Available Panels: 4-Panel up to 13-Panel

Rapid and laboratory-based testing options are available. Non-negative rapid screening results may require laboratory confirmation.

Hair Follicle Drug Testing

Hair Follicle drug testing is available for non-DOT workplace, pre-employment, court, personal, and other testing needs. It provides a longer detection window than urine testing and can help identify patterns of repetitive drug use over an extended period.

Hair Drug Testing

A small sample of hair is collected, typically from the scalp, and sent to a laboratory for analysis. When approximately 1.5 inches of head hair is tested, the detection window may extend up to approximately 90 days.

Available Panels:

5-Panel up to 17-Panel

Laboratory-based testing and confirmation are performed as applicable based on the test ordered.

Note:
Hair drug testing is generally not recommended for detecting very recent drug use. Panel composition and detection periods may vary depending on the specific test, specimen, and laboratory requirements.

ChildGuard® Hair Drug Exposure Testing

ChildGuard® is a specialized hair drug exposure test designed for children. A small hair sample is collected and analyzed by a laboratory to help identify potential exposure to drugs.

Unlike traditional hair drug testing, ChildGuard® is designed to help detect drug exposure that may result from ingestion or environmental contact.

Available Panels:

5-Panel • 7-Panel • 9-Panel

Common Uses:

Child welfare • Custody cases • Court-ordered testing • Social services • Suspected drug exposure

Please Note:
A positive ChildGuard® hair test indicates that drug exposure may have occurred but does not, by itself, determine how or when the exposure occurred. Results should be considered within the appropriate clinical, legal, or investigative context.

Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)

Breath alcohol testing measures the alcohol concentration in a person’s breath and provides results within minutes. Testing is available for DOT and non-DOT purposes, including random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, follow-up, and other workplace testing.

DOT alcohol testing is conducted in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 using approved testing devices and procedures.

Blood Alcohol Testing

Blood alcohol testing measures the amount of alcohol present in the blood at the time the specimen is collected. A blood sample is collected by a trained professional and sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Common Uses:

Legal or court-related testing • Post-accident testing • Workplace testing • Personal testing • Other authorized testing needs

Specimen:

Blood

Please Note:
Blood alcohol testing reflects alcohol present in the bloodstream around the time of collection. Results and detection periods may vary depending on the timing of collection, individual factors, and the specific laboratory test performed.

EtG Alcohol Testing

EtG (Ethyl Glucuronide) testing is used to help detect alcohol consumption by identifying EtG, a metabolite produced after alcohol exposure. Urine and hair testing options are available depending on the required detection period.

Urine EtG Testing

Used to detect recent alcohol exposure. EtG may remain detectable in urine for up to approximately 80 hours after alcohol consumption, although detection times can vary.

Hair EtG Testing

Used to help assess alcohol consumption over a longer period of time. A small hair sample is collected and sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Available Specimens:

Urine • Hair

Please Note:
Detection periods and results may vary depending on the amount and frequency of alcohol consumed, individual factors, specimen type, laboratory cutoff levels, and other circumstances.

Fentanyl & EtG Urine Testing

This urine test combines fentanyl drug testing with EtG alcohol metabolite testing in a single specimen.

Fentanyl Testing

Urine testing is used to detect fentanyl and/or its metabolites, helping identify recent fentanyl exposure or use.

EtG Alcohol Testing

EtG (Ethyl Glucuronide) is a metabolite of alcohol that can remain detectable in urine after alcohol has been eliminated from the body. EtG may be detectable for up to approximately 80 hours, depending on the amount and timing of alcohol exposure, metabolism, and laboratory cutoff levels.

Specimen:

Urine

Please Note:
Fentanyl and EtG evaluate two different types of exposure—fentanyl is a synthetic opioid, while EtG is an alcohol metabolite. Detection periods vary based on the substance, individual factors, timing of exposure, and laboratory testing method.

Synthetic Cannabinoid (K2/Spice) Drug Testing

Synthetic cannabinoid testing is designed to detect K2, Spice, and related synthetic cannabinoid compounds or metabolites that may not be detected by standard marijuana (THC) drug screens.

Testing is performed using a urine specimen and sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Commonly Known As:

K2 • Spice • Synthetic Cannabinoids

Specimen:

Urine

Please Note:
Synthetic cannabinoids differ chemically from marijuana (THC). The specific compounds detected may vary depending on the laboratory test panel ordered.
